- David J. Goerz III
- Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer
David J. Goerz III, senior vice president and chief investment officer, joined HighMark in 2003. As CIO, David provides leadership to all of HighMark's investment activities. He chairs the Investment Policy Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors of HighMark Capital. Prior to joining HighMark, he was chief investment officer of mPower Advisors and Morningstar Associates, subsequent to acquisition. Previously, he was director of global asset allocation research and portfolio manager for Wellington Management. He also held portfolio management and senior investment research positions with TSA Capital Management and ARCO Investment Management. David regularly appears on CNBC as well as Bloomberg TV and Radio, and is quoted frequently in various investment periodicals. David received his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in Applied Mathematics and a Master's in Operations Research Engineering from Stanford.

Ken Wemer joined HighMark Capital Management in September of 2003. Ken serves as Director of Research overseeing all of the equity research functions at HighMark. He is a co-Portfolio Manager, responsible for conducting research of the Industrials, Materials, Energy and REITs sectors for HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. Ken is a member of HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC) and Asset Allocation Committee (AAC). He has more than 15 years investment research experience, most recently with Jurika and Voyles. Ken received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Real Estate from the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder.

George Rokas joined HighMark Capital Management in January of 1999. George is a co-Portfolio Manager, responsible for conducting research of the Financials and Utilities sectors for HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. In addition, he is an active member of HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC). George has more than 18 years investment experience with firms that include Montgomery Asset Management and Pacific Alliance Capital Management (predecessor firm to HighMark Capital Management). He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder.
- Flavia Araujo, CFA
- Vice President and Senior Research Analyst/Portfolio Manager
Flavia Araujo joined HighMark Capital Management in March of 2004. Flavia is a co-Portfolio Manager responsible for conducting research of the Consumer Discretionary and Consumer Staples sectors for HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. She has over 17 years equity research experience. Prior to joining HighMark, Flavia was an Equity Analyst at Harris Bretall Sullivan & Smith, with sole responsibility for coverage and analysis of the consumer sector. She also served as Global Equities Analyst at Montgomery Asset Management, with responsibility for coverage of consumer sector stocks in the US and Europe. Flavia started her career at Kayne Anderson Rudnick as a Senior International Analyst covering international stocks in the developed world, primarily in the consumer, financial, and industrial sectors. Flavia is a CFA Charterholder and an active member of the CFA Institute and the San Francisco Securities Analysts Society. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy of Industrialized Societies from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles.

David Dillon joined HighMark Capital Management in 2007. David is a co-Portfolio Manager responsible for conducting research of the Technology and Telecommunication sectors for HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. David has more than 11 years investment experience. Prior to joining HighMark, he was a senior analyst at Wells Capital Management, responsible for the technology sector and was a co-portfolio manager of the firm’s Technology and Telecom Fund. Earlier in his career, he was an research analyst covering semiconductors and semiconductor capital equipment at JPMorgan H&Q. He began his investment career in 1994 at GT GlobalFunds, which eventually merged with AIM funds. David is a CFA Charterholder and an active member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco and was recently published in Reuters (2007). David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Robert Kang joined HighMark Capital Management in January of 2004. Bob is a co-Portfolio Manager responsible for conducting research of the Health Care sector for HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. Robert has more than nine years of investment research experience. Prior to joining HighMark, he held positions at Jefferies & Company and JP Morgan. - Vice President and Director of Quantitative Strategies
Derek Izuel joined HighMark Capital Management in 2008. He serves as director of quantitative strategies overseeing all of the quantitative-based equity strategies. Derek is co-portfolio manager on the HighMark Core Equity Fund and the HighMark Small Cap Advantage Fund. Derek is also a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee. Before joining HighMark he was senior portfolio manager with Invesco AIM where he managed a suite of global quantitative equity funds. Derek received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master's in Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder.

Todd Lowenstein joined HighMark Capital Management in 2001 and co-manages the HighMark Value Momentum Fund. Todd has more than 18 years of investment management, investment banking, and accounting experience with prior positions at JP Morgan in mergers and acquisitions and as the senior manager of the information, communications, and entertainment group at KPMG Peat Marwick. Todd received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master's in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from The UCLA Anderson School. Todd is a Certified Public Accountant.

Keith Stribling joined HighMark Capital Management in 1995. He has been co-manager of the Value Momentum strategy since 1997. Keith has more than 22 years of investment experience including equity derivatives arbitrage at First Boston and foreign currency arbitrage at Shatkin Trading. Keith received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Stetson University, DeLand, Florida. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder.

Craig joined HighMark Capital Management in 1994. Craig currently directs the investment strategies employed by HighMark Capital Advisors (HCA). He manages several equity strategies for the firm including HCA's Disciplined Equity model as well as Union Bank of California's Employee Benefit Income Equity Fund. Craig is a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee, Asset Allocation Committee, and chairs the Regional Investment Committee. Craig has more than 25 years of investment management experience. His previous positions include research analyst at Fisher Investments and manager of the Investment Advisory Service at RWB Advisory Services in San Jose, California. Craig received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting at California Polytechnic State University and a Master’s degree in Financial Services from Golden Gate University. As chief executive officer of Bailard, Inc., sub-advisor to HighMark's international investment strategy, Peter leads the firm in its pursuit to create innovative investment opportunities for clients. Before assuming this role in 2008, Peter was Bailard's chief investment officer, a post he held for 13 years. He is also the lead portfolio manager of the Bailard International Equity strategy. Peter has over 23 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining Bailard in 1985, Peter worked in the United Kingdom as the deputy investment manager for the Royal London Insurance Society, Ltd. where he managed portfolios of international equities and unit trusts. Peter received his Bachelor of Arts in 1972 from Leeds University and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, U.K. His published works include a chapter in Global Asset Allocation, published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Eric Leve joined Bailard, Inc., sub-advisor to HighMark's international investment strategy, in 1987. He currently serves as a senior member of the firm's international equity team. During his years at the firm, his research interests have also included tax-aware investing, performance attribution and global bond management. Eric has over 21 years of investment management experience. Eric received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Quantitative Economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1986 and his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1997. He is an active member of the CFA Institute.

Tony Craddock joined Bailard, Inc., sub-advisor to HighMark's international investment strategy, in 1997. As part of the international equity team, his activities focus on country selection and improvement of Bailard's quantitative international equity models. Previously, he served as performance analyst for the firm and was responsible for performance and risk analysis. He has over 11 years of experience in the financial services industry. Tony received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at San Diego in 1992, and in 1996 earned his Master's degree in Pacific International Affairs from University of California at San Diego's Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies.

Jack Montgomery has been working with HighMark since 1994. He is responsible for taxable fixed income strategies at HighMark, including two mutual funds - HighMark Short Term Bond Fund and HighMark Bond Fund. In addition, he is a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. Jack has more than 27 years of investment management experience. Formerly, he was the portfolio manager of the San Francisco Employees' Retirement Systems fixed income portfolio. In addition, Jack spent 11 years at First Interstate Bank of Oregon, managing employee benefit fixed income portfolios. Jack has a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's degree in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oregon at Eugene. He is a member of the San Francisco Society of Financial Analysts and is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Jeff joined HighMark in September of 2010 as a Senior Portfolio Manager where he is primarily responsible for managing taxable fixed income strategies for all client types. He joined the investment industry in 1992 with Dodge & Cox, where he spent 12 years as a portfolio manager and a member of the firm’s fixed income policy making committees. More recently, Jeff was a Managing Director at HSBC’s Halbis Capital Management before joining Bishop Street Capital Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in English Literature from Columbia University. He is a CFA charter holder and member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of San Francisco and the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Greg Lugosi joined HighMark Capital Management in 1991. Greg is responsible for managing taxable fixed income funds and separate accounts as well as executing fixed income trades on behalf of the regional portfolio managers. In addition, Greg is the primary portfolio manager for the Union Bank Stable Value Fund. He has more than ten years of investment management experience with firms that include Union Capital Advisors, a predecessor organization, Planned Asset Management, and Petra Financial Group. Hillary Elder joined HighMark Capital Management in 1995. Hillary is responsible for taxable money market strategies at HighMark, including four money market funds - HighMark Diversified Money Market Fund, HighMark U.S. Government Money Market Fund, HighMark 100% U.S. Treasury Money Market Fund, and HighMark Treasury Plus Fund. In addition, she manages the National Investment Fund for Credit Unions, a common trust fund designed to serve the liquidity needs of the credit union industry. Hillary is also a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee. She has more than 28 years of management, custody, and operations experience in the investment industry. Prior to HighMark, Hillary was director of money market funds at Bank of America Capital Management. Hillary received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from National University and is a graduate of the American Institute of Banking in New York.

Hubie White joined HighMark Capital Management in 2000. Hubie is responsible for managing taxable money market strategies at HighMark.
