- Derek Izuel, CFA
- Vice President and Chief Equity Officer
Derek joined HighMark in 2008. As the Chief Equity Officer he provides leadership to all of HighMark’s equity investment activities. He is a member of HighMark’s Investment Committee, Asset Allocation Committee and Management Committee. Derek began his career in finance in 1991 with Bank of America. Prior to joining HighMark, Derek was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Invesco. Derek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder, as well as a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco, and the Chicago Quantitative Alliance.

David joined HighMark in 2004. As the Chief Fixed Income Officer he provides leadership to all of HighMark’s fixed investment activities, including managing and servicing large institutional liquidity accounts on behalf of our diverse client base. In addition, he is a member of HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. David began his career in the investment industry in 1985 with firms that include Deutsche Asset Management and Stone & Youngberg LLC. Prior to joining HighMark, David was the Director of Investment Strategies at AssetMark Investment Services. David earned a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Oregon and a Master of Business Administration in Management from Golden Gate University. He is also a CFA charterholder, and a member of the CFA Institute and the Security Analysts of San Francisco.

- Vice President and Director of Equity Research
Ken Wemer joined HighMark Capital Management in September of 2003. Ken serves as Director of Research overseeing all of the equity research functions at HighMark. He is a co-Portfolio Manager, responsible for conducting research of the Industrials, Materials, Energy and REITs sectors for HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. Ken is a member of HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC) and Asset Allocation Committee (AAC). He has more than 15 years investment research experience, most recently with Jurika and Voyles. Ken received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Real Estate from the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder.

George Rokas joined HighMark Capital Management in January of 1999. George is the co-Portfolio Manager of HighMark’s Large Cap Growth and Fundamental Equity strategies. In addition, he is an active member of HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC). George has more than 22 years investment experience with firms that include Montgomery Asset Management and Pacific Alliance Capital Management (predecessor firm to HighMark Capital Management). He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder.

- Vice President and Quantitative Analyst
Ed Herbert joined HighMark Capital Management in August 2006 and is co-Portfolio Manager for the large and small cap quantitative equity strategies. Dr. Herbert has more than 15 years experience in the investment industry in the US and Europe. Prior to joining Highmark, he was a member of the research group at Barra Inc. for 9 years, first in Europe and later in the US. Ed received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science and a PhD from the University of Wales, Swansea.
- Todd S. Lowenstein, CPA
- Vice President and Director of Value Equity
Todd joined HighMark in 2001. As a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Value Equity strategy, he is responsible for daily investment decisions, which includes monitoring existing holdings and researching new ideas for inclusion in the portfolios covering all sectors and industries. Todd is a member of both HighMark’s Investment Policy Committee and Asset Allocation Committee with oversight responsibility of the firm’s asset allocation strategies, operations, accounts review and compliance. He began his career in the financial industry in 1990 as a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick in the information, communications, and entertainment group. Prior to joining Highmark, Todd worked at JP Morgan in mergers and acquisitions. Todd earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from University of California at Santa Barbara, and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Strategy & Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles, and an adjunct professor in the Economics Department at UC Santa Barbara. Todd is a regular contributor to the financial news media and has appeared on Bloomberg TV & Radio, Barron’s, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, BusinessWeek, Smart Money, New York Times, LA Times, Financial Advisors Magazine, Reuters, and Dow Jones.

Keith Stribling joined HighMark Capital Management in 1995. He has been co-manager or an analyst of the Value strategy since 1997. Keith has more than 26 years of investment experience including equity research at HighMark, derivatives arbitrage at First Boston and foreign currency arbitrage at Shatkin Trading. Keith received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Stetson University, DeLand, Florida. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder.

Craig joined HighMark Capital Management in 1994. Craig currently directs the investment strategies employed by HighMark Capital Advisors (HCA). He manages several equity strategies for the firm including HCA's Disciplined Equity model as well as Union Bank of California's Employee Benefit Income Equity Fund. Craig is a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee, Asset Allocation Committee, and chairs the Regional Investment Committee. Craig has more than 25 years of investment management experience. His previous positions include research analyst at Fisher Investments and manager of the Investment Advisory Service at RWB Advisory Services in San Jose, California. Craig received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting at California Polytechnic State University and a Master’s degree in Financial Services from Golden Gate University. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder as well as CFP (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™).

Jack Montgomery has been working with HighMark since 1994. He is responsible for taxable fixed income strategies at HighMark, including two mutual funds - HighMark Short Term Bond Fund and HighMark Bond Fund. In addition, he is a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. Jack has more than 27 years of investment management experience. Formerly, he was the portfolio manager of the San Francisco Employees' Retirement Systems fixed income portfolio. In addition, Jack spent 11 years at First Interstate Bank of Oregon, managing employee benefit fixed income portfolios. Jack has a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's degree in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oregon at Eugene. He is a member of the San Francisco Society of Financial Analysts and is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Jeff joined HighMark in September of 2010 as a Senior Portfolio Manager where he is primarily responsible for managing taxable fixed income strategies for all client types. He joined the investment industry in 1992 with Dodge & Cox, where he spent 12 years as a portfolio manager and a member of the firm’s fixed income policy making committees. More recently, Jeff was a Managing Director at HSBC’s Halbis Capital Management before joining Bishop Street Capital Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in English Literature from Columbia University. He is a CFA charter holder and member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of San Francisco and the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Greg Lugosi joined HighMark Capital Management in 1991. He is responsible for managing taxable fixed income funds and accounts as well as executing fixed income trades on behalf of HighMark Capital Advisors portfolio managers. In addition, he was responsible for managing the Union Bank Stable Value Fund for 17 years. He has more than 21 years of investment management experience with firms that include Union Capital Advisors and Pacific Alliance Capital Management (predecessor firms to HighMark Capital Management), as well as Planned Asset Management and Petra Financial Group. Greg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Woodbury University.

Bob Bigelow joined HighMark Capital Management in 1994. Bob oversees the management of tax-exempt fixed income strategies at HighMark, including three mutual funds - HighMark California Intermediate Tax-Free Bond Fund, HighMark National Intermediate Tax-Free Bond Fund, and the HighMark California Tax-Free Money Market Fund. In addition, he is a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee. Bob has more than 27 years of experience in fixed income management. Prior to joining HighMark, he was City National Bank's Investment Portfolio Manager. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.

Hillary Elder joined HighMark Capital Management in 1995. Hillary is responsible for taxable money market strategies at HighMark, including four money market funds - HighMark Diversified Money Market Fund, HighMark U.S. Government Money Market Fund, HighMark 100% U.S. Treasury Money Market Fund, and HighMark Treasury Plus Fund. In addition, she manages the National Investment Fund for Credit Unions, a collective investment fund designed to serve the liquidity needs of the credit union industry. Hillary is also a member of HighMark's Investment Policy Committee. She has more than 28 years of management, custody, and operations experience in the investment industry. Prior to HighMark, Hillary was director of money market funds at Bank of America Capital Management. Hillary received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from National University and is a graduate of the American Institute of Banking in New York.

Hubie White joined HighMark Capital Management in 2000. Hubie is responsible for managing taxable money market strategies as well as managing securities lending cash collateral and other cash liquidity accounts for institutional clients at HighMark. He is co-manager of the four money market funds - HighMark Diversified Money Market Fund, HighMark U.S. Government Money Market Fund, HighMark 100% U.S. Treasury Money Market Fund, and HighMark Treasury Plus Money Market Fund. Hubie has more than 25 years of fixed income experience managing both taxable and tax-free fixed income assets for individuals, corporations and municipalities with firms that include Mentor Investment Group and Capitoline Investment Services, Inc. Hubie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. In addition, he is a CFA charterholder. Hubie is an active member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco.

Raymond Mow joined HighMark Capital Management in 1995. Raymond manages the HighMark California Tax Free Money Market Fund and is co-manager for both the HighMark California Intermediate Tax-Free Bond Fund and National Intermediate Tax-Free Bond Fund. He has more than 23 years of investment experience. Prior to joining HighMark, Raymond was assistant vice president and portfolio manager at Hawaiian Trust Company where he managed the Pacific Capital Tax Free Money Market Fund. Raymond received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
